A not-for-profit organisation and registered charity dedicated to saving our windmill

The windmill at Chishill is one of only seven open trestle post mills in the UK. In 2011 it was in urgent need of restoration to save it from collapse and preserve it for future generations. Thanks to the Great Chishill Windmill Trust it has been saved.

The windmill open days re-start in April. In the meantime if you would like an ad hoc tour please contact us on [email protected]

Thanks to all those who attended the Snowdrop fundraising event on Saturday 8th February. We raised nearly £1000 to support the windmill.

Our next Fund raising event is a Quiz Night on Friday 21st March. We look forward to welcoming you there.

The windmill is open in 2025 on the following dates (10:00 to 16:00). There is no need to book - just come along, although if you plan to bring a large party, it would be helpful to know in advance, and if you are coming from some distance, it could be wise to check beforehand - as plans may change. We would love to see you, why not bring a picnic?
